equal parts Rumpleminze and Stoli (or other reasonably good vodka)
shake together with crushed ice in a cocktail shaker
pour into a highball glass filled with fresh crushed ice

I used to call this Liquid Valium when I worked in a bar that was frequented by a local law firm.

Ok, it's not a cocktail, but it's a great snack. I've been making banana chocolate smoothies for lunch on the hotter days when solid food just doesn't sound appealing

4-6 ice cubes
1 cup yogurt (i recommend stonyfield's banilla organic)
1 banana
chocolate syrup to taste
2 table spoons flax seed (optional, but a great way to get omega 3's and fiber)

It's chilly, yummy, and extremely healthy for a beverage.

How 'bout a Caipirinha. Very refreshing!
For a traditional Brazil style caipirinha, you should use unbleached Cane sugar, which you should be able to get in any natural food store. The secret is in rolling the limes to make sure they are good an juicy.

Hello CB - here's a recipe for my current favorite summer drink: a Strawberry Basil cocktail. Can't get enough fresh herbs in the summer! I also must have have a thing for pink - last summer I was all about Pink Lemonde and Rum. So easy - lots of ice, a big glug of light rum (bacardi is fine) and pour in some pink lemonade. Garnish with lemon if you're fancy.

I don't know what you would call this, but it surprisingly refreshing: Gloria Ferrer Champagne, a couple of ice cubes, a slice of lime. Yum!

I'm sure you get those "heat tips" on your local news: drink fluids, avoid alcohol. Yeah right, and I'm supposed to survive this by drinking WATER all day? I have no blog to share, just an opinion. Vodka tonic. Lots of lime. And ice. Cheers!
