I've invited the whole family round this xmas for a big dinner, so the roast is pretty important! I found a tonne of recipes at this roast recipe site, but cant decide on one in particular - there's too many to choose from! It is fun planning such a big xmas dinner though!

[...] Tiding yourself over with fall and spring hothouse tomatoes? Weekly Dish offers this recipe for making the most of non-summer tomatoes. (Disclaimer: my experience with off-season tomatoes, even those from our farmers’ market, hasn’t been great. But I’ve heard that there are growers out there who produce a mean hothouse tomato - congrats if one lives near you!)
Just finished making the sauce! All from homeproduce tomatoes, homegrown garlic and onion. Instead of olive oil I used Red palm oil. I added red wine for extra flavour! I was able to make 1 liter, I have more tomatoes left but I just wanted to try it out...the taste is superb. I will definately use this recipe for the remaining tomatoes. This would also be a fun thing to do with the kids (I have 4!) you can really get them involved in every stage. Many thanks!

Why would you use yucky canned tomatos in such an otherwise great-sounding recipe??

I couldn't agree with you more. It's like as soon as spring comes all thoughts turn to the bounty of the garden! Roasting the tomatoes is a great idea! Thanks for the recipe.

Wow, this sauce looks rich and gorgeous. I love the flavor of roasted tomatoes and garlic. There's nothing like it, is there?

This looks so good. I really envy your Creole tomatoes, though. I haven't found any that good here!
